Michael Domino is a versatile American writer, filmmaker, and entrepreneur whose creative work spans poetry, short stories, novellas, novels, and film. Born in New York City and raised in Huntington, Long Island, Domino draws much inspiration from the urban culture of Manhattan, which often features prominently in his storytelling. His literary themes are broad, covering topics such as Manhattan street life, the Vietnam War, gangsters, and private detective fiction, enriched with historical and contemporary references.

Domino’s storytelling career began with poetry and evolved into prose, creating compelling characters like Detective Bobby Fallon, who debuted in his novel Camp Hero and has attracted interest from film producers for franchise development.

In filmmaking, Domino has written, directed, and produced works including the short feature The Expediter and the award-winning full-length film Mott Haven, starring Robert Davi and Chuck Zito. His films have been showcased at various festivals, earning recognition for their gritty, urban narratives.

Domino co-wrote the 2023 crime drama Don Q, a modern-day mafia story set in Little Italy, and also appeared in the film as “Man with moustache.” Don Q stars Armand Assante and Chuck Zito and explores themes of delusion and turf wars in a changing neighborhood. Domino also served as a producer on the film, further demonstrating his multifaceted involvement in storytelling through cinema.

Outside of his creative endeavors, Domino is the founder and CEO of Domino Plastics Company, managing a private plastics recycling business based in Long Island. He lives between Manhattan and Central Florida with his wife of over 30 years, Betty, and their three grown daughters.
